SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WACH) — A seven-year-old kindergartner was reportedly caught with a 12-inch knife at school, gathering inspiration from a popular horror movie, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina. On Wednesday, the Cherryvalle Elementary School student reportedly took a kitchen knife with a seven-inch blade from home to school and threatened students and a teacher. No students or faculty were harmed and the knife was recovered by the Sherriff's Office. When asked why he brought the knife to school, the student told deputies that he wanted to kill the teachers and students.
