YATES • 1929 - 2023 Posted Tuesday, March 14, 2023 6:00 am Nearly a year ago, The Sumter Item published an article about Colleen Yates and her legacy, something she hoped will remain imprinted in Sumter County as an inspiration for young women to be community leaders. It was only fitting that a woman with that kind of passion and dedication to not only her community, but also to young women everywhere leave that legacy behind during the month that honors women of U.S.
